Illegal Operation

Recommended Posts

I have a mastercam drawing that I need to convert into dwg format. When I convert the drawing I keep getting this error

"This program has performed an illegal operation and will close down".

I have rebooted the computer to see if this would solve the problem but it did not help.

Would any of you have any ideas as to what is causing this.

Thanks.

The entities in the file are mostly splines so dxf format will not work.

Cadcam that is right. I got the dwg converter yesterday and everything is ok until you start to convert. It does nothing for a short while and then the error comes up.

The file is too big to post onto cadcams server. It is 42mb which i can't understand why it is because it is only a small drawing, so maybe this is causing the problem.

My reseller is coming next week to install Mastercam Wire so I will show him when he comes down.

Thanks for your help anyway.

Hi ruffmute I thought you were putting the DWG file up to try & translate.

But I have to say this file in no way should be this big.

I have a feeling that there is some thing imbedded in this file from the original file

Ok I reread your post you are trying to make a DWG file sorry my miststake.

But still there is no reason this file should be so big some thing is wrong.

Were did this file 1st come from?

I am going back and try makeing a dwg.

Hi Cadcam.

I got the file from my tool designer who is on holidays at the moment.

I needed to convert the mastercam file to autocad 14 so that i can inport into my wire package, so that i can wire the spline shut off and slots in my cavity plate.

The reason i need dwg format is that i don't have Mastercam Wire until the end of next week.

Thanks for your help Cadcam.
