Many users opening same file.

Hello everyone,

In MC 9.1 MR0304, if a user has a file open and another opens it also, each does work to it. Who ever saves last gets his/hers work saved over the others. I realize that this is an obvious thing that needs attention but in some apps. , if another has the same file already open it would warn you that it would open only as "read-only" (ex. like Solidworks) and one would then know that it is already open on another machine on the network and take appropriate action to find the user.

Question is, can this be fixed through network administration or through the application Mastercam? Is it fixed in X because of the windows platform?

No it's not fixed. I've come across that before too. But we fixed it with work place procedures that kept more than one person from working on the same file.
