Tabulated Setup Sheet (.doc)?

Hello,

I am a new member to the forum and this is my first post. I have to say that this is an excellent website! Many of my Mastercam questions were answered just by viewing archived posts in this forum. Thanks to all of the very knowledgable members here who take the time to help new Mastercam users here like me.

I wanted to know if there is a way to output a tabulated setup sheet in MSWord .doc format. "Tabulated": meaning, table columns to denote tool1, tool2, tool3...etc. and rows for spec's. To look something like the following (in word doc table form):

Tool 1 Tool 2 Tool 3

Desc .375 E Mill .250 E Mill #26 Drill

Collet ER 32 Ext ER 32 Std ER 16 Ext

DIA Code 12 16 10

Offset 5.75 6.25 4.50

I know of no way to alter the toollist.doc 's output other than detailed or simple. You can however use macros to create tables in Word. One of the programmers in the company I work for did it and it's pretty slick. So it is possible in Word, but not Mastercam. Yet.

There is no easy way to output into an MS-Word format (the .doc produced by the post-style .set setup sheet is straight ASCII).

Using the same .set setup sheet you can certainly make modifications to create spaced out ASCII tables (like the tool table produced the Mpmaster post on this site), or produce a comma or tab delimited ASCII file to read into Excel. The HTML setup sheet on this site under Tools also shows the level of advanced formatting achievable with the .set style setup sheet.

Thanks James & Dave,

I have been wanting to learn more about using macro's in MSWord... Is it possible to trigger a macro call in Word via the .SET file? Outputting a tab delimited ASCII file to Excel is a great idea as well. I'll try it with Access too.

I just downloaded the HTML setup sheet to check out later.

Thank you Very Much for the suggestions!!
