Hi everyone,

I'm getting started to programming 5 axis. We have A & B rotary axes mounting on a 3 axes vmc. What should I change in the generic fanuc 5x post in order to post it right? I am very appreciated for your responses. Thanks.

What is it posting now that you consider wrong?

I am appriciated your welcome message. I know my question is little vague. Unless you are using the same A & B axis set up on 3 xyz axis VMC. It is posting B and C istead of A and B address, and this could not be done by just changing address word in the post. What would you suggest to change? or would you share your thoughts about solving this problem in your way?

When post editing always backup your post before making any edits.

I don't use that post but doesn't it read from the machine def? If you have a tilt about X it'll give A and a tilt about Y gives B.

Wow!!! I am so surprised for your response. It is so quick. Thank you.

However, I tried; I failed again. All it does is changing the C to A address.

Now, I am testing to cut 4 faces around the A axis. My 4X Fanuc Post gave me A0, A90., A180., and A270. My 5X Fanuc Post gave me A0 B0, A180 B-90, A0 B180, A0 B-90. I am expecting to see my 5X Fanuc Post gives B0 A0, B0 A90., B0 A180, B0 A270 or any combination that make B axis stays still, and A axis rotates 4 different positions 90 degree apart. What do you think John?
