Job setting oin Mastercam for 5 axis.

Kindly check if I am doing correct setting or not ???

 

its a 5 axis machine with table/table config. ( Rotary a and b attachment) Seimens 840 D

 

I wish to machine an impeller clampled on A axis Table , Whether I will need to orient the job in LHS view to do machining . Is it OK ?? kindly suggest.

 

i.e. in Plane dilog box

Working co-ordiate syst = Left side view

Tool Plane = left hand side view

Comp./ Construction plane = left hand side view

Nitin,

 

Most often I keep the WCS set to the TOP plane and the tool plane and construction plane set to top, front, left, right, or a user defined plane depending on which side of the part I want to machine.

 

There is a WCS and View Manager tutorial on cadcam's ftp site that will explain it better than I can here. You will find it here
