OT - System Config

Hi ,

I'm in hurry and must assemble new systems, want to know if anybody has any comment about this:

P4 1.7GB - Gigabyte 8IRX or 8IRXP- 1GB DDR-ATI Radeon 8500 64 MB-60 GB IDE HD

The main applications are MC 8.11 (or 9) , SolidWorks 2001plus,Solid Edge 11,UG18,Catia 5r7 (and of course 3D games as well )

Oses: Win2K pro- Win XP pro

stay away from ATI cards .I know this has been coverd.

The ATI Radeon 8500 is only rivaled by the nVidia GeForce4, as far as gaming performance goes. But ATI cards and Mastercam don't seem to get along, like Jay mentioned.

What's the problem with Radeon and MC?

And is there any driver/reference driver or something to solve it? I heard that ATI has configuration options in their drivers for SolidWorks.

And besides does GeForce 3 have problem with MC ?

Hi Question:

I receive an report about problems with a P4 ASUS I850 mainboard. The dynamic rotation in Mastercam is with a I850 chip much slower then on other one - like ASUS SIS P4 S333. Also the P3 is working well. To change the graphic card has no effect. We try more than 8 different cards. Just on a I850 is the problem.

Does anyone else has the same problem?

I checked the recommended hardware for UG and other CAD/CAM software, The only one supported across the board was the Oxygen series.
