Not sure if this is the right place, but up until recently my Mastercam 9 has been running flawlessly.

When I started it yesterday it comes up with an "Abnormal program termination" window, and then the next box after that is titled "CiceroUIWndFrame: Design9.exe - Application Error"

and in the box it says "The instruction at 0x7369009" referenced memory at "0x0014801c". The memory could not be "read." Click OK to terminate the program ...

What could be going wrong here?

I would think if you got in contact with your reseller they could provide you with the proper version for a re-install.

Short of that I think you going to have trouble.

It seems something happened,whether there was a software install or someone deleted something unknowingly, it is a rare occasion when something goes bad like that and if it does it is in my experience generally a hardware issue.

HAHA!!!! After a couple of hours spent trying to get all vestiges of Office completely removed from the computer (it's like metastatic cancer) and reinstalling XP SP 2 to possibly correct any errors in Windows, I was about ready to put my foot through the screens. It turns out THAT was the problem. Screens. I added another monitor recently for my dad and for some reason MC doesn't like multiple monitors being enabled. On a hunch, I disabled monitor #2 and launched Design. Closed my eyes and braced myself to hear the windows erro r sound. After about 15 seconds or so I didn't hear anything so I cracked one eyelid and D9 was waiting patiently on the screen, ready to go to work...

So the moral of the story is,

* Disable windows XP themes

* In "Regional and Lanague Options" click on Lanauges tab, then in the window that opens, remove handwriting and speech recognition. Hit apply. Then click the Advanced tab and check the box next to "Turn off advanced text services", hit apply and then restart.

*Disable the second monitor

and youre good to go biggrin.gif
