Dual core: 2nd processor cutting air

Is there a trick to get Mastercam X2 to utilize the second cpu of a core2duo? I’ve set affinity but Windows Task Manager still shows a brick wall at 50% of CPU usage.

Are you saying it's using 100% of 1 CPU? Have you tried setting affinity to the other CPU to running a 2nd instance of MC? Task mamager does show 2 CPU graphs doesn't it?

I would not set affinity at all.

 

Let the OS divide usage where it can - Setting affinity may limit how processor time is allocated. I have found that the OS will, in most instances, divide the load where possible. Just not all of the time.

 

Monitor CPU load/performance for a few hours - not just for a few minutes. Beyond that - Mastercam is not a multi-threaded application at the moment.
