With some creativity and work you might be able to add this.

The question I have is why would you want to when you have pocketing routines built right into Mastercam?

We have a lot of problems with alarms, the machine is semi conversational and the parameters don't allow us to do everything as it seems in mastercam, plus it cuts the program in less than 1/4 in some cases, and allows operators to edit programs at the machine, so please help, thank you

You would have to add this using a custom drill cycle.

How many parameters do you need to define for the pocketing routine to work. Then how about options.

What does the cycle need to look like?

In the mean time I know crazymillman has posted some nice canned routines for a Fadal using the custom drill cycles.

I have modified a couple posts to perform canned inspect cycles and record the values after machining the part. You could use the Mastercam point as the center point (XY) of the pocket and the drill parameter for passing the length, width, depth, stock to leave and so on to the post. Another option that I have used is the misc. real and integers’ to pass information off to the post, thou I do not think this would be a good option for your pocket problem.

I agrre with John, but I can atest to the fact that in some places people think long hand programs take longer to run, obviousley they don't but operator preference is the canned cycle,

for ease of adjustment, speed feed DOC ect.ect.
