LAP mode question

I am programming a facing operation and I know the "D" in LAP mode is what comes off on the diameter when turning. Why on facing is the post out putting D.1 when I tell it to remove .05 at a time? Do I just have to fake out MC and tell it to remove .025 and ignore the the back plot and rely on the posted program?
