system crashing while printing hardcopy

My students are having difficulty printing a number of dwgs to an hp1000 color printer. print all dwgs in black and white. Can print 2 dwgs and when go to a third the program locks up. Must reboot system win98. mc 7.3. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. the doc.

MC 7.3? No such bird, you must mean MC 7.2c.

As for your printing problem, if you are using Windows NT with SP5 or SP6, Windows 98 or Windows 2000, then it is probably your printer driver that is giving you trouble. Try downloading the latest driver for your OS. That has helped a number of our customers.

I've noticed an option on the Hardcopy screen in V8 that allows you to Choose a color or B&W copy. It is on the menu with the "Do it" command.

Update your DirectX to Ver 7.0a, there was a bug in Ver 7.0. Then update your video drivers. It sounds odd but I had a lot of trouble with my ATI Rage until I did this, and it cleared up my mouse, video image and printing problems.
