Good day,

It says in the X3 installation guide "If your installing X3 in the same directory as your current X2 installation(replacing your current X2 installation)

Replacing....sounds like overwrite

or do I need to uninstall X2 first then use the same folder to keep any X2 customized files.

AS stated in the X3 installation guide on page 9

under "Migrating manually"

Tony,

If you choose "Replace your current version", the installation utility will offer a back option, if you use it MAKE SURE you click on the browse button for the default directory offering, and then click the green check. If you are choosing to the backup option and do not click the browse button NO FOLDER WILL BE CREATED.

Then X3 will uninstall and install itself into the directory that was just uninstalled.

If you X2 directory is C:MCAM-X2-MR2

Then X3 will be in that folder.

It does not affect anything but it can look funny

G day,

I had trouble when I manual over wrote the MTB

from the back-up folder into the new install and I didnt get my toolbar from X2.

Should I have selected "no" for making a back-up

folder to preserve my X2 settings?

Tony,

If you did an "replace previous version", you should have had NO trouble at all getting your X2 settings, backup or not.

If it is giving you an error message upon start up, those are "generally" related to thinigs on your toolbar/RMB that pertain to X2 chooks.

If you click the center button on that dialog it will clear those errors.
