verify background color

Hey Gang,

 

A guy in our shop is having difficulties when using Verify. When he clicks the verify icon, everything is good, but when he hits play, the background color changes to the same color as the stock, and the tool motion makes weird colors on the screen. I've done disable hardware acceleration on his settings, and made his settings duplicate mine, but the problem persists. I'm going to try and update his video card drivers, but I was just curious if anyone else was having this problem. He's running X3 MU1. Thanks.

Just wanted to give an update. I updated his graphics drivers, and the problem is still there. Backplot works OK, but verify does not. I also get a weird error message after the verify is complete, and I try to manipulate part in verify. If I try to do a rotate with my mouse button, it says "Changing the graphics view is not allowed at this time." Any ideas?

Ok. Now I've unchecked disable hardware acceleration, and the color problem goes away, but it won't let me manipulate the part afterwards. Same error message..."Changing the graphics view is not allowed at this time"

Ok. The problem with manipulating the graphics view was fixed with checking the "USE True Solid" box in the verify settings. But the deal now is that with the disable hardware acceleration box UNchecked, the stock model in verify is all weird. With the box checked, the background color changes to the same color as the stock. Perhaps fooling around with DirectX will solve this?

try lowering the quality in verify

when i put verify at maximum quality , weird things happen even in simple part

 

and for using a solid to define stock,even a square block,gives me good result

Go to settings configurations and check your verify settings.

Same result here. Running Windows XP Pro SP3. No problems at all in X2 MR2 only in X3 MU1. When is X4 due out?

What video cards are being used?

 

Have drivers been updated?

The video cards are the regular on-board video that came with the computer, which was here before I started. I did update the drivers. I'm going to have him turn down the quality of the verify and see what happens. Thanks for all your help guys.

I've no doubt about that, John. It's just funny that verify has been relatively problem-free until X3.

The way things are coded and requirements change.

It appears that the system requirements for X3 has hurdled over the 5 year old computers here. I'll let the higher ups know. They probably won't laugh in my face. Cheers.

Using a Quadro card, here. X3 MU1 has frequent problems when doing a solid Verify of surfacing tool paths. No problems in X2 MR2, except that it's slower. Also, .stl files take forever to load in X3 MU1 Verify.

There are some older ones that just don't work real well any more.

 

You can also turn off the hardware acceleration for the card.

 

settings >> config >> verify >> verify settings, disable hardware acceleration.

The Quadro card is an FX-570. Disabling hardware acceleration makes no difference. Why no problems with X2 MR2 and nothing but problems with X3 MU1? Will this problem get solved in X4? What is the target release date of X4? No choice but to pay for maintenance because X3 MU1 isn't reliable or good enough. I hope X4 will be.

I'd be curious to hear WHAT these frequent problems are, I use the same card in my work computer. Have you gotten with your reseller to go over your issues?
