Position and Dwell without machining

I have parts with 4 threadmills and I only have coolant thru on 2 of them, so what I did first was manually add M00 (CLEAR CHIPS BEFORE THREADMILLING)

Then I decided to run the first threadmill (with coolant thru) over the other holes to blow the chips out before the other t-mills come down in the holes. I done this editing manual also by adding X1.875 Y1.625 G04 P100 and so on for all the holes.

 

Can I do this in MCAM without manually editing?

If I understand what it is you want you could accomplish this using a custom drill cycle.

 

Create the cycle and all the movements over the holes, then employ the threadmill cycle.

I was thinking about this on the way home last night and I could prolly do a drill cycle with zero depth and a dwell of 2 seconds over each hole just to blow the chips out for the 2 t-mills that dont have TSC.

 

I try to "Idiot Proof" all my programs, but someway, somehow someone will screw it up!!

You can also use toolpaths, point then goto a location... but then under the canned text you would have to modify a statement for dwelling also.. just another option
