4/5-axis mill x book tutorial troubles

I just bought this book 4/5-axis mill x and I am having trouble completing tutorial 4. I am stuck at: CREATE/SURFACE/TRIM SURFACE/TRIM SURFACES TO CURVES. Select the cylinder with 3.5" radius and chain the polygon...

 

I need a more complete description of how to complete this geometry from that point on as I am not as advanced as needed to complete it myself. I am using plain old X.

If your refering to the In House book I have it but it is at work. I believe you can download the geometry for all the tutorials if you don't want to create it yourself. The book should give you the website for the downloads. I can take a look at it on Monday if you haven't figured it out by then.

Yes it is a in house book, I did DL the file but want the experience of doing it myself. I tried many combinations I could not find the right combo. Right now I am just frustrated so I am going to see what the forum beings me.

 

I also ordered another in house book, Mastercam Solids X.

I have the X2 book. My tutorial 4 seems to be a different part. My tutorial 4 has no surfaces.

Thanks for looking Justin, I will be working with my solids book when it arrives and I hope that will give me some more experience to complete T-4.

I checked out the 'Mastercam X Mill Training Tutorials' and Tutorial 4 doesn't have any surface creation. It is 'Level 1 - 2D TRANSFORM TOOLPATHS USING ROTATE & MIRROR'

 

Exactly what book are you using?

my book is titled: 4/5 Axis Mill Training Tutorials. It is for plain old X.

 

Tutorial 4 is called: Axis Subsutitution; Rolldie C-Hook

The videos they have cover the Handbook series. Of course Handbook Vol. 3 covers 4/5 axis... but I think they only do vids for Vol 1 and maybe 2.

 

As for your tutorial related question, I don't have an X book in front of me but I, or someone else here will have a look at it.

To all my new friends at the forum, I completed the geometery for T-4. I just had the wrong combination of mouse clicks. Took about 3 hours total time to trim two surfaces! At least I got it. Thank you all for helping me.
