No what i am saying I would get the ER collet holder for VDI then just use those type of collets. Yuo could also go with the standard 1" boring bar holder for the VDI then get the 1" dia collet holders and now have a VDI block that will hold 1: boring bars and 1" collet holders.

I'm with Ron on this one, stick a collet chuck into whatever your standard boring station is; if the turret is on center, and the machine has rigid tapping, there is no reason to run a floating holder. If your turret is a little off center in the Y, then you could run a floating holder to compensate.
