Helix Qestion

I threw a file in the MCX folder on the FTP page. The name is Helix Question 001. Take a look at this drawing and see if there is enough information to generate this helix? I have the Helix angle and a point on the angle, but the MasterCam dialog box insists on a pitch or height.

To avoid math, you could lay out the helix angle in the flat, and roll it on a 1.682 diameter. In the flat, the line for the helix should be at zero depth. When rolled, it will be a helix at the .841 radius.

If you want to do the math, find the angle in degrees = 4 + 22/60 degrees = 4.3667 deg.

The lead, then, is tan(4.3667) * pi * 1.682 = .4035
