Tom,

Is it Win 98 1st edit. or Win 98 SE (2nd ed.)? Win 98 FE was the absolute WORST O/S possible out of all the Windows O/S's. That's why there's a Win 98 SE. Find out what the O/S is by right-clicking on the My Computer icon on the desktop. Select Properties at the bottom of that right-click menu and it will tell you in the General tab what edition the O/S is. If it just says Win 98, without the "Second Edition" phrase, upgrade it IMMEDIATELY. Or replace it with a newer, more stable O/S like Win 2000 Pro or Win XP Pro. They may seem costly but think of the time you are wasting because you are crashing your Mcam during Verify.

This could also be a video card issue. Hopefully you won't have to upgrade or replace your O/S. Try adjusting the hardware acceleration of the video card if you have Win 98 SE. If this fixes the problem, then you may want to download the latest driver for the video card. There are a number of topics in this forum which discuss video cards and resolutions of problems with them. HTH biggrin.gif
