Can U scan?

So I believe I have read, heard, and can imagine that one could take a picture, a photo, or something and scan and transform it to geometry. What info does anyone have to this? this is my first attempt at researching this so go easy on me if ya would. I wanna do a crazy cool engraving on like a poster size sheet of aluminum. Wish I could find something that other people have done....Thanks for anything?

Cool, I check that out. I seee the function Rast2vector in my version of mcx3. Any recomendation on how to learn how to use it?
