It may be a Dumb question but which version of MS Visual C++ 6.0 would be best for programming in Mastercam? Professional Edition, or Standard Edition I don't think Enterprise Edition is an option.

With the exception of an optimized compiler, the Standard Edition will be adequate to develop C-Hooks. The Professional edition's compiler provides more optimizations, in terms of size and speed of executables, DLLs, MFC-based apps, etc... So as long as C-Hooks will be the only types of projects you use it for, the Standard edition will be fine. Now for projects involving sockets or databases, the Professional or Enterprise editions would be the choice.

Then again, the Professional edition is listed as a requirement in the C-Hook documentation that ships with Mastercam. I've never personally used the Standard edition, so maybe some projects settings that are required for Mastercam C-Hooks may be absent from the Standard edition. Looking into the Professional edition is probably your safest bet.
