Create Stair Geomerty

Hi all, new here. Been using MC for about 12yrs. 5 yrs with wood. I make curved handrail parts, posts, fancy caps, exterior trim from composite material, and stairs + treads lots and lots of them. So it was great to see MC had a little utility called create Stair Geomerty. Only problem is it isn't code compliant in Ontario. It doesn't add the top riser geomerty for attachment to the header, the round nosing of the tread is a code violation (they say its a tripping hazzard), and the wedge angle doesn't account for the setback point of the riser to the tread so the wedge can be driven all the way in.

That being said I can get close to what I want but then have lots of geomerty ajustments to get to where I want to be.

I've had an live online session with CNC Software where all issues with my team and them were discussed and visually displayed....but this has gotten me nowhere. frown.gif

Joe, Sorry I dropped the ball on this. I know your company has been using Mastercam since February '06 and the request wasn't made until this spring so I guess I underestimated the urgency of this request. Typically, when a customer has an enhancement request someone takes down the information and enters it into the database and the customer is given a request number for future reference and it ends there -at least until the enhancement becomes an official project. Because I know this particular application isn’t something that would quickly bubble up to the top of the enhancement list I really wanted to see if there was something else I could do to help. I’m spread a little too thin right now but I will contact Snehal today to discuss your options. Again, I apologize for the delay in getting back to you.

Hi Chris Bell, thanks for the great editing job idea.gifidea.gif and letting me know.

Just as a follow up to my situation it has been suggested I purchase a C-hook form another software company outside of Mastercam for $3500.00 to $7000.00 depending on modifications.
