Drilling and thread milling White Cast Iron

Recommended Posts

I have cut plenty of HC-250, which I "think" might be a sister to this white cast iron, which I've never heard referred to before.

If they are pretty similar than yes turning with ceramics ALL the way, milling, drilling and tapping was all done, it just took some time and finesse, the stuff is unforgiving. carbide drills and cutting taps with a good deal of pecking, drilling and tapping and moly-dee.

The turning was pretty well nailed down but the rest was always done under a careful eye, one of those things you just couldn't leave

alone. Almost everything HAD to be loaded and unloaded using forktrucks and chainfalls, so these weren't small.
