MC9 FILE IN LATHE & MILL

I could not use same MC9 file on Lathe & Mill

But I used to do use on previous Version of MASTERCAM

I try many ways such as save some, select geometry

Or merge with out tool path, IT doesn’t help

 

If someone have some Idea to use same MC9 file

In lathe & mill

Please help me

when I get file form lathedirectory

many alarms are comming

for example

ERROR ....invalid functioncode

(ljbstp)

ERROR ....invalid functioncode

(lface)

it is continue

 

I upload 2 sample alarms in pictures directory

You can see 1) alarm1.bmp

2)alarmlast.bmp

 

I do not understand why this error comes

Ashan,

 

Error messages such as those often occur from an incorrect installation of the software. Did you by any chance install V9.1 in a root directory named Mcam9.1? If so, the period ".", would be the cause of your problems. Completely uninstall the bad installation and re-install in a root directory without any punctuation (such as Mcam91). Mastercam's model files, which contain geometry as well as toolpaths, are the same from one product to another (.MC?). You should be able to easily "Get" an .MC9 file from Mill while in Lathe or vice versa. You can also read V8 or V7 files into V9 but can't read a V9 file in either V8 or V7. HTH
