i have started to program parts on a tl 1 haas lathe and i am programing on mastercam x5. what happens is i tell the roughimg pass to cut .02 deep but instead it gose .1 on the first cut it dosent want to take the numbers i put in dose anyone have any ideas ?

Are you using a canned toolpath? In older versions of MC a bug existed when the nose radius of the insert was larger than the stock amount on the outside diameter; MC would ignore that stock and start inside of it, causing a DOC that was greater than desired. I don't know if X5 does that because we're using V9.1. If you aren't using a canned toolpath you have some error in your stock definition or you don't have "extend contour to stock" selected.
