Home Position

It is possible to 'assign' a Home Postion for each operation in the Operations Manager. Unfortunately it is not clear how this Home Postition is interpreted by Mastercam. It is only outputted once in the NCI file (record 1001), at the beginning of an operation, and the resulting movement is not shown in the simulation/backplot. Why doesn't the tool 'automatically' return to the specified home positon after the operation or before loading the next tool?

Can anyone exlain the Mastercam filosophy of the Home Position?

The Home Position can be picked up in the post processor via the xh, yh, zh variables. They tend to be used for the G92 style work coordinate definition in Mill posts.

The Reference Point is a point that the tool moves to after a toolpath, and it shows in the Backplot, and posts out. In V8.1 there are several added options under the Reference Point including selective axes moves (e.g. only Z), and incremental moves.
