Macros

Does anybody know if X6 allows key mapping to macros? If not, is this something that Mastercam has considered and does anyone else think that the way macros are used in Mastercam is not real functional. I know thats more of a cad thing and Mastercam is more Cam but I just feel like this could be improved.

I'm talking about recording a series of functions...maybe this is just my old style thinking getting in the way. I guess a fully customizable toolbar has taken the place of all that? I just have some employees who can't get away from hitting keyboard buttons to do certain things.. ex. (alt-m) = mirror.. maybe somebody else has experienced this and has some advice. We are using a old cad program to do all our 2D design and I am trying to get everybody on board to go completely to MasterCam for all design. Any words of inspiration? :wallbash:

bamavick:

Go to settings in the pull down menu then hit "macro manager".

Recording repetitive commands.

Is this what your referring to??

I dont see that you can put a recorded macro to a key or combination of keys might have to be chook to map to key. I might be wrong but i think you can only key map existing commands. You can prob map a key to open the macro dialog box then choose the macro and hit play.
