Lathe C axis milling

Greetings,

 

Is there a way to take a mill project and convert it to run on a lathe utilizing c axis cutting. I have a mill part but all our mills are loaded with work. How can I take this part and transfer it to our C axis lathe to mill it? I am still learning Mastercam X5 and would greatly appreciate any help.

We could reassign planes six-ways-to-sunday..but don't.

For starters do you have a decent post? Are you solid on C axis work on said lathe?

 

Ok let's say you are....Take your part and xform move it into lathe space in mastercam. Top Top Top looks like you are standing at the machine. Easiest way next is to reprogram using c-axis toolpaths.

If you want full functionality of mill (recommended), learn the mill/turn plane management.

 

If you want to learn mill/turn , get a few months subscription to StreamingTeacher. Yeah a few hundred bucks but how much are you losing with backlog work on your mills???
