Well, you'll need some sort of broken tool detection system for starters. The usual suspects are laser, and touch. Depending on what system you have will dependon the software. Depending on the software, that will dictate what the call looks like.

On Renishaw, G65P9863 Hx. M1. Sxxx Tx. (H = TOlerance, T = T#, S = Speed)

I Agree with CNC Apps, purchasing a system is needed first, and there is a good possibility that they have a Macro B program for there system. This is because they know that their product is only as good as the software running it, and to insure you get the most out of there product.

After re-reading my post, I left out some important details. I am familiar with the way Renishaw does things. We had a laser on one of our other machines and their macros worked great. This machine is a Doosan MX2500 with an automatic presetter arm (contact). It does not look like it is renishaw. I cannot find much documentation and Doosan is telling my AE that broken tool detection is not possible. I guess it just does not make much sense to me that a multi-tasking machine would not have these capabilities.

Depends on the measurement style. Automatic arm, might be possible. Manual arm, not possible.
