Rounding Error

When milling to a depth of -.31725 Mastercam (ver 8.1) doesn’t round the number consistently. On a linear move the depth is .3172 but on an arc the depth is rounded to .3173. I tried several other numbers that end in .xxxx5 but the error was only on -.31725. The .nci has -.31725 in both linear and arc moves.

Not that it is a big problem; I was just wondering if anyone else has seen it.

+ or - 1/2 a tenth? What machine is that accurate? In my backplot it was the same depth on arc or linear move. The post, mpmaster, output a rounded move of -.3172, on the arc and the line. Did you check to see that the geometry is flat? And that the end points line up?

In screen configure, on the NC Settings page there is a field where you can specify decimal places in the NCI file. By default it is 6. If you're having precision problems, you may want to push it out another place.
