Yes. I do agree with you WIndows 10 updates are removing the ability of the Nvidia manager to choose the video card. I was also facing the same issue 3 weeks ago.

I like the stream deck as a productivity tool, however in a number of programs more than 2 key presses are required to do an action. For example by default in Visual Studio the bind to comment/uncomment code is CTRL+K+C(/U for uncommenting). I'd like to be able to do this with the stream deck.

Yes, I will recommend you to just go for Desktop buy all the CPU gears then assemble it because it will be less expensive than a laptop.  ANd would be powerful than a laptop.
