  1. Also its acting odd on how the picture shows up on the setup sheet.... normally when i would create a setup sheet.... I would click screen fit and then generate a setup sheet from X+ and the picture looks just like it does in mastercam. But now when i do that same thing the screen shot doesnt have the part centered and its zoomed in too far. So then I have to go back and zoom out in mastercam so the entire part is in the screen shot picture on the setup sheet.

  2. When I backplot a simple drilling operation and step it thru, it jumps from the Clearance height striaght down to programed depth. Doesnt pause at the retract height and then onto final depth of hole. But when you display path it does show rapid down to retract height and then feed down to bottom. Has anyone else noticed this?

    Thanks

  3. I really like the new Optirough path, but the issue I am having is when I try to use the steep/shallow to force path to start above the geo "because stock size" it will generate a path but it stops at the top of the part in Mastercam and wont go any deeper. If I disable steep/shallow it starts just above the model and creates a great looking path roughing the entire part. Anyone else seeing this?

  4. Sounds crazy but has anyone seen the RPM drop down and then cut a few passes and then pick back up and continue. Will optimize cut order have anything to do with this?? I have checked posted file for change in spindle command but found nothing. Only see spindle command for programmed rpm. Any thoughts?? bonk.gif

  5. Very Nice, Thank you Gunther. The only thing we have noticed so far is that when you create "Tool List" for more than one drill it seems to output drill tip angle "118" for the depth, but if you create a tool list for just one drill its ok. Thought that was a little odd.

  6. What kind of indexable tooling do you have?? I know in the past we have used the same feed mills we cut tool steel with and were able to almost double the speed and feed but even though its indexable we had to run coolant so the inserts wouldnt load up on us.

  7. Another tool thats VERY good is Ingersolls Form Master Line. "feed mill style" we use Iscars high feeds but Ingersoll seems to be more stable. FYI Ingersoll 2" dia form master .05 doc 40/50% step over runs 1350rpm and a feed of 320imp you'll get 3to4 hrs per edge on your inserts with good program methods. "never conventional cut!!!!" also we have run the 2" tool projected out 8" in length

  8. several different things could be happening, but once simple tasks start crashing I end up rebooting my computer and that does help and also If master cam has been open for a long time "like over the weekend" it seems to also act up sometimes, also what kind of computer setup are you running??
