Hello,
This is my first post. I teach machining and my students and I are interested in learning how to bring in 3d inventor files and have mastercam automatically do the toolpaths. We are starting out simple such as a plastic mold for a basic screw driver handle that looks like half of a cylinder round on the ends and the bottom. What operation do we use? We get it imported into mastercam then do we use a pocket, cplane or 3d? I know we are using an eight inch ball end mill. When we try the pocket command we get a warning that says "boundaries do not lie in the construction plan." Do we need to do some type of transform command?
Thanks.
Jack
