  1. yup ... but go back and try and use it ... you'll feel like noob with 2 thumbs..

I occasionally have to do something in our seat of V9/Verisurf... even simple stuff is like pulling teeth now

I usually move it into X5 then back to V9 if I have any serious work to do

I had to jump in here. This is funny because last night on American Chopper show they showed Jim Quinn on the computer and he was using V9

  2. These guys have been good to me for the last 20 some years. If you live in Michigan and use MC you know them too. Thanks Rob for spending your day in our shop. Always enjoy the visit. Got some xxxx done too.

Yes Sir, they are the best.

  3. What I was looking for is maybe a parameter setting recommendation for the Mits control to allow it to use the same rigid tap code as the Fanuc post. We have created a custom drill cycle to cure this. Sorry I upset you so much. I will try to be more considerate in the future.

  4. We have a OKK with a Mits Meldas 600 control, all of our other OKK have the Fanuc control. We use the same MPFAN post on all. The problem is the Mits will get an error if we use the Rigid Tap Cycle. If we manualy change the feedrate from F to a E it will work. Is there a work around where we do not have to edit the nc file?

  6. I have upgraded my controls on my home unit from SouthWestern Industries Prototrak Plus and MX3e controls

to Mach 3 controls. Anyone have a need for the old stuff as spare part?

All motors and ball screws have been reused ( low Hours) but the other

stuff may come in handy as replacement parts.

Contact me by email if interested.d

    Thanks

Which Mach3 did you have to get? Digital or Analog. I might be interested in yours, my monitor is starting to fade.

  7. We have a post for a Prototrak MX3 that works fine in X2 MR2. It uses DOS communication with the box checked. When we updated it and tried to send it in X5 it will generate the same code but when the editor closes and the dos window appears it will close immediately without sending the file. We have checked all settings between X2 and X5 and they are the same. It will work perfectly in X2.

  8. Has anyone run in to this problem? When you try to simplify a large number of entities in X5 is freezes?

I take the same file in to X4 and it works flawlessly and quickly. In X5 it just freezes and hangs.

Yep, I get the same thing here.

  9. I have a MX3 and it always used a .cam ext on 2D and .dnc with 3D but after downloading the newer software from their website it uses .nc ext. I also have to enable DOS to make it communicate with MCAM X

  10. At PCS we machine all plates from blank using a center pick up. If we are machining a pre made plate we will always back up the pick up by measuring off of the offset pin location. As mentioned above it will insure correct plate alignment. I believe our Mold Base's are the best available but I guess I am a little partial. We are currently adding mold base cad files in all configurations to our website for download. Take a look at www.pcs-company.com
