We were able to duplicate the problem here and we have a fix that will go out with SP2. We're in the process of producing and testing an incremental patch.
What about those of us that don't have the upgrade available?
Like me.

I can't delete a tool in mill tool manager. X7, right click, hit delete and it says "Unable to delete tool" WTF?
I checked the file for permissions and I have full permissions.

I am having the same problem and have just read everything since this was posted. I don't see that it has been answered. I lost my harddrive and am starting from scratch. I had previously read thru the whole thread over a year ago when x7 came out and somehow got it loaded. I'm actually on another computer that we have X7 loaded on.
I have closed Mastercam.
Tried to load it in public\documents folder first. (Also tried under mcamx7 chook directory.)
Had my administrator log on and try everything.
We are using microsoft defender for antivirus.
Has anyone else had this problem and found a work around?
Thank you all for any help.
OK, so the problem was that I did not have the proper administrative priveledges. I thought my IT guy had changed it, but he had not. I was able to instantly load it on the other 2 shop computers (which I had admin priveledges on). Thanks all. I love X+

I am having trouble installing X+ for X7. I am getting an error message when the installer tries to write files.
The Error Message is:
"Error opening file for writing:
\chooks\X+\lang.dll"
If I press 'Ignore' I keep getting an error message for each .dll file. The installer won't write any of the .dll files that are supposed to be in the chooks\X+ folder and the file X+.ft (which it tries to put directly in the chooks folder). However when it moves to the C:\User\Public\Documents\X+ directory, it writes all those file with no issue.
We are used to encountering problems with the X+ installer on our PC's at work because they have tight permissions. Yet we found a work around by installing X+ on my laptop and transferring the files to the other PC's and renaming some directories in the files. This worked great for X+ on X6 yet I can't get it to work for the X7 version of X+.
I have tried many different methods with the installer and have given up. My laptop and the PC's at work use Win 7, but I even setup a virtual machine with Win XP to try and get the installer to output the files. Has anyone had trouble like this? Is there anyone willing to zip up the files in the \chooks\X+\ directory and the X+.ft file to send to me?

I have my shade tolerance set to .0001, wonder if that slows it down much?

You could try walter valenite. I am not aware of the price or quality, however I am pretty sure they also make capto tools
Walter Valenite is owned by Sandvik....

If you're using the 2D highspeed tool paths they do not multi-thread
Thanks again. That answers my question.

I appreciate your help John.
I have a question. I downloaded the X6 x64 latest version but it did not install into the \Program Files(x86) subdirectory (like X5 did) and it doesn't seem to be hyperthreading or multitasking (like X5 did). Is there something somewhere I need to turn on? When I do a regen of a dynamic area op, I do not get the little symbol showing it doing its thing in the background.
Frustrated....

Thanks Gunther! Been using this for years.
How can I get the Time to show up after DATE?

I just ran across this same problem. It has nothing to do with centerline. We are running M04, when it got to the assigned diameter it did this:
M05
G96 S800 M03
It should have been G97 S800 M04, so it got CSS wrong too besides spindle direction.
I have the update MU1 loaded so it hasn't been fixed as of the latest update.

Thank you! That double checks my initial thoughts.

Hello, I usually only lurk and don't post. Can anyone definitively tell me if I can run X2MR2 on a new screaming Dell T5500 dual quad core and Win 7? I know the software won't utilize the computer but WILL IT RUN reliably? We plan on updating to X4 in the next few months but just the computer for now. Note: we are not bootleg, just stoneage...
Thanks for any help.

I'm sorry I can't help. I have this same issue too. It looks like there's no easy fix.

I would like to know how to setup the VPN.
We have a nethasp at work and I have Mastercam loaded at home. I don't want to use a "remote desktop" connection. I want to open Mastercam at home and have the software go across the net to verify the nethasp on the server at work. I know that passwords will have to be used and suppossedly the IT guy set up the system to allow the VPN.
Thanks for any help.

Old thread, but I have the same annoying problem of trying to delete tools.
Sorry for the bump, does anyone have an answer?
