    I was thinking the exact same thing, I see no benefit as well. I don't see any advantages with this method like said above you will just produce a cone shape.

    But with that being said you can just draw a tapered spiral how you want and just 3D contour it.

    yes. you can also save a vericut model as an stl. if running a first OP, then use that cut stock for the secont OP which is more desireable results than mastercams creation of an stl. file based off mastercams verify.

  3. Had trouble getting MasterCam command finder to work, and have been unable to locate the simplify splines tool in MasterCam 2017. The equivalent in X9 would be EDIT- SIMPLIFY SPLINES. This is used for converting splines to arcs.
