So I stumbled into a lab style class for Mastercam where the socalled teacher doesn't teach. Luckily Mastercam is SO EASY; though it's quite intricate I've picked up so much out of thin air in the past 2 months that I can see putting this program to good use without ever having a real teacher. I'm not in manufacturing, but I'm in a field where we're known to need special builds at times, and this is going to be a big plus. But since I get so little time with it in a week I'm thinking I need my own copy. A search for a student or EDU version on the board found comments about it but no info. And I haven't been able to find a vendor offering it either. Is there such a version of X2? How would I get it? And while I don't think I can actually use Mastercam in making a racecar body, I did spend a few minutes doing some previsualization for the F500 car I want to build. Maybe I really can use it as design software; since I'm not a true designer I'd probably never test its' limits.
