**Update**

I reinstalled through the local admin account instead of the domain admin account and it stuck this time. I had to copy the 'shared mcx5' folder to the domain user folder and I am up and running now. It's kind of funny that all previous MCX installs for the last 4-1/2 years I've done have been through the domain account and I never had an issue...

Chris I am caught in a loop. Replacing MCMachinedef.DLL caused MCCore.dll to fail next... replaced that as well, now Mastercam.EXE shows a similar error. I've also tried the DVD for a clean install with the same results. I'd call my reseller again, but I know what the result will be. If you've got an X6 DVD I can have, I think that might fix it.

Chris, that error was from another user... mine is 'The procedure entry point ?GroupsMachineGroup@YAPAU_group_list@@PAU1@@z could not be located in the dynamic link library MCMachineDef.dll.'. Thanks

Scott - yes. One other thing to note is this was a fresh install, this machine is a brand new Lenovo W520 w/ next to nothing installed on it.

Well, I got in this morning and cleaned out the install again, removed all folders and traces leftover... restart and reinstall from DVD, same results. I guess I will redownload like Greyman recommended, I do remember this happening once before (thanks for the tip). Hopefully this works, I've got a new machine w/an i7 and i'm dying to crunch some #'s.

Sidenote, any advice on a reseller w/ apparently little regard for helping it's customers?

Initially, yes... But I've uninstalled, manually removed all mastercam entries in the registry, reboot and reinstalled with the same error. I also tried the same method, and ran before applying MU1 and had the same results. My reseller was of minimal help at best.

I just did a fresh install of MCX5 w/MU1, all default everything... The program seems to work fine but I get a popup during the splash screen with a message about

'The procedure entry point ?GroupsMachineGroup@YAPAU_group_list@@PAU1@@z could not be located in the dynamic link library MCMachineDef.dll.'

I've tried uninstalling, clean and reinstall to no avail. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

Used to be able to just do a single finish pass at full depth, that's more than adequate for what I use it for; don't really want to waste time finishing at each depth cut.

Sorry it was X5 i'm using currently (still keeping X4 for a while too)... Selection is with center of arc - keyboard shortcut 'c'.

Curious if anyone else has run into this... Circle mill -- Enable depth cuts without a finish pass, enable multi-pass with only one finish pass, and the depth cuts do not generate -- tool goes straight to depth and makes only one pass. This is something I do constantly to open up holes or terp counterbores and never had an issue with it.

Hopefully a simple fix. In X4MU3 when I backplot a toolpath, immediately all my motion lines are showing instead of being shown as the tool moves. It is a little messy to look at, and I can't seem to find the fix.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think it would be a very useful addition to have a command (hotkey) to toggle autocursor on/off on the fly, while keeping your settings. I know you can bring up the menu or each individually; I've got it in my right click menu, but it still requires a few clicks, whereas some well known software already has this built in.

Just my $0.02.

I've had to manually insert the tool comments for each post... No real rhyme or reason to it.

This has been happening a lot lately. Using X4MU3, make a few changes to a tool or two, post the code, and I get tool numbers with blank comments () in the header randomly. Sometimes I've had the tool comment revert to what I initially called it, even after changing it. Any ideas??
