I have a strange problem with the Transform by toolplane feature in X3. I am trying to use it on my live tooling lathe to repeat a slot 10 times around my part. The problem is, if I ghost the source oporation then I basically get no output. I can get around it by not ghosting the op and being carefull when I post the part. But this used to work in X2. Anyone else run into this problem? Or could this be a post issue?
Thanks alot

I have done threads like this by in feeding at 60 degrees with a TNMG turning insert with a 1 radius. A regular threading insert with a radius will work too but I found the TNMG worked better. You probly need to use G32's if your machines won't allow for more than 45 degree infeed in a canned cycle. You also have to take more passes than a normal thread, but sure beats milling it.

Kannon,
Have not run it yet, but the code does not have the A120, or A240 at all.
CNC apps guy,
Thats exactly how I transformed the toolpath. Im conviced its a post problem although my post has worked fine for 4th axis in the past.

thanks for the welcome
Its not changing the work offset between transforms. I think we will have to add offset changes to work around this for now.

Hello everyone
I have been reading the forum for a while now but this is my first post. Thanks alot to everyone for this forum, has helped me alot. Answers most of my questions before I even know to ask them.
Now my problem, I need to mill 3, 60 degree pockets 120 degree's from each other on a 7 inch diamater part. I am useing a vmc with a 4th axis rotary. I have a toolpath that mills the first pocket perfectly, and the output from my post is exactly what I want. When I transform this path around the part for the next two pockets, they look correct on the screen, backplot correctly and verify correctly. Next I post the code, and I get three identical sets of code all with the same rotary movements. Is this a post problem? or have I gone astray somewhere?
Thanks
