  1. Update, I just recieved the email below.

    Let´s hope it works.

    Gunnar,

Thank you again for supplying these crash reports. There is some good news with this one. I was finally able to duplicate the crash being caused by the 3DConnexion devices (including the SpacePilot) and I was able to fix it in X4 MU2. X4 MU2 was just released two days ago so you should be able to download it or get it from your reseller.

  2. Oh yes, I have sent in several crashreports to CNC. They tell me that it happens due to bad spacemouse drivers that do not get rid of what is stacked in memory. They also told me that MAYBE they could fix it till MU1, but it looks like it is not fixet even to MU2. Neither from CNC nor from 3Dx-ware. Last time it happened some days ago CNC suggested a newer driver from NVIDIA, but since I use a HP nw9440 (notebook) it is not that easy to switch driver, although I just did it. We will see if it helps...

  3. Are you sure the machine really is capable of threading the wire at an angle. Most machines thread the wire vertically and then incline the wire from the threadpoint to the actual contour. That is how I always do it and that works for sure.

  4. There is some issues with the .inf file. You get some kind of message that says that the system does not recognize the file, or something like that. It is a couple of months since I last tried it, so I don´t recall exactly what it was. But I am pretty sure that someone here at the forum knew how to overcome the problem, but I did not try that at that time.

  5. I have used this laptop for 10 months now and it works great with MCX2 and SolidEdge. On the other hand I have not been able to load NVIDIA´s drivers on this machine, just HP´s own but latest. Sign up for new drivers on their website. I think there is a workaround though to load NVIDIA´s driver. Someone else can perhaps tell us how.

  6. I have had an issue looking like this. For some reason the system tolerance was way too high. In my case the solution was: Settings, config, tolerances: the greyed out first row was reading way too many decimals. In metric it should read 0.00005. Furthermore I had to delete the config file to force MC to create a new one, otherwise the problem got back after a new start of MC. For some reason the changed value did not get saved.

  7. No, you do not need the numeric keypad but you get a wider screen and you get NVIDIA Quadro FX 1500M 256Mb. The other HP.s are shipped with ATI FireGL. For what that is worth. Here in Sweden that is about US$ 275.

  8. Keith,

That was exactly what I wanted to know, but I will check Intel´s white papers too.

Hymen, the separate keyboard was a good suggestion, that shall be considered carefully.

    Thanks for your replies.

  9. Keith,

That is exactly what I am asking: does MC make use of both cores within the processor. Dell has an explanation on their homepage that make me think that one program uses one and another use the other. Nevertheless the main thing is that the pc really has the capacity to do the job, and that seems to be the fact.

    Thanks for your answer.

  10. Hello,

Long time user of MC, since V3.21

long time daily visitor in this forum,

silent but very interested, but now I

have a question that have not been

    answered enough, although I have

searched for it: I plan to buy a mobile

    workstation, for example HP9440,

with Intel core duo 2600 @ 2,16 GHz

and 2GB ram. To be used with MCX,

    Solid Edge and Inventor.

    Today I use a ShuttleX with P4 2,5GHz

    512kB L2 and 1GB ram and nvidia GF6600.

It has served me very well for 4 years

but it is a very noisy xxxx. Since I work

at home too I want at PC that is movable.

Now the question: will the HP be noticeable

faster and more silent. The 2MB L2 makes a

big difference I understand but does MC

make use of the dual core in the new

CPU. After all, the new ones run at a lower

speed than the older ones.. I would like a

    brief explanation from someone who

KNOW, not believe or suppose. This

is not a q of fancy figures but a PC that

will do the job in a decent way, hopefully

for a long time. And I am not stuck with HP,

Dell Precision M90 is another one with

    similar specs...

    Thanks in advance

    Gunnar

  11. Look in Configuration,Tolerances, System tolerance:The field is greyed out but sshould read 0.00005 if you are in mm mode and I guess 0.000005 if you are in inch mode. I have had that same problem and it was due to 0.0000000001. So to solve the problem change the tolerance. That worked for me.
