I am cutting an "arc" but in the form of an "H" with 4 standing posts on it.

It is an arc with a radius of 20.3" and the part is 15" long and 8" wide.

I do not see the "cut depths" button.

I am using a solid model for the "surface rough parallel"

Is there any way to start the cutter lower than "Z-0" in rewriting the program? I had a cutter break and I had cut -.670 and when I restart it I would like to begin at -.650

Other than editing the program (nc file) is there a way to start the cutter at that depth in X4?

I never touch/move anything unless I know for sure what it does....When I put in X4 I downloaded it from the website and nothing more.

I did how ever solve it by completely shutting down my computer (ready to go home)but decided to give it one more try AND it worked.....everything was back to "normal" what ever that is (lol).

FYI ; I tried to write new program (pocket) and it would not show anything on the parameter page. It was again blank.

IT still shows a good toolpath, so wondering if it is saft to use or need to reprogram .......

MASTERCAM X4;For some reason when I click on the parameters for a tool path it will not show up ANYTHING if it is either a pocket or contour......every other path the parameters come up but with those two the page comes up but it does not show anything except blank windows.

Any suggestions? I have shut down the program and brought it up and still nothing. For a couple of times it did put up "BAD ARGUMENT" what ever that means.

I did not see it the first time I ran the program so when I reposted it because I had made changes to speeds/feeds on another cutter that was when it happened.

Because I was only making a change in cutter speed on another cutter I did not re-run the backplot as I did not see this being something that could have happened.

I appreciate everything, but what the "F" is wrong with Master scam...........I know it was not me because it does not do it all of the time and I know when the guys at CAD-CAM are going to tell me that it has not happened to anyone else on planet earth and it must be my computer or me.

Checked the Reference points you said, and they are shut off........I never go into those mainly because I do not know what they are for or how to properly use them if that is what they are for.......

I ran the tool path yesterday and it ran fine except for me (the dummy) putting in one cutter wrong size. I made that change and re-posted the program (changed a different cutters feed//speed). It was when I re-posted it that it happened and when I ran the program it crashed. When I checked it sure enough it had added that point.

For some reason my X4 adds extra places for the cutter to plunge........I put in a toolpath for contour of 2 holes and for some reason this stupid program drops the cutter down at the home position and then without pulling the cutter up to clear the part it moves to the FIRST path which always breaks my cutters.

I can write the program and get it to run right and on the second or third part it will ADD a point to drop in on and break my cutter.

What the F is going on with this D program?

Does anyone else have this happen or is it just me?

I am running a basic Fanuc post. Is there something I am missing or is it just Masterscam?

Where do I go to change splines into arcs? also where can I go to create a 3 point circle? I see the 3 point arc, but I want to create a circle.

Where can I get a chart/table on drilling and taping Titanium?

Keep breaking drills (carbide) so I figure I am going about it wrong with my feeds/speeds.

I am cutting a hex 2.0 deep so am using extended cutters. I tried one part at 750 rmp with a feed of 10in/min and totally wiped out 2 brand new cutters....

That will happen if you "reverse" the cutter path....the pocket paths cut from bottom to top (found that out), so in order to get a climb cut I had to go in and copy all the paths then change them to conventional cut and then mirror them and they ended up doing a climb cut on the finish passes.....
