  1. Because you can just use multi-pass. Set the number of finish passes to two
    and the spacing to zero.

This does not work beacause if I want to remove .010" on my finish pass and not material on my spring pass then I need to have to different values. Of course, there sre some solutions to it but the point is that programmers who use standard toolpaths like contour all the time would prefer having the spring pass option added.

This has been a topic for so many years and still In House Sloutions does not pay attention to many users asking for simple additions to the software.

  2. Due to security reasons I probably will be removed from the network having an un updateable browser and op system is the main reason for the upgrade to windows 7 throughout the company. My system would be the only one plugged into the network with potential security issues. Plus as it is now its tough to navigate the internet with such an outdated browser really wish the new op system was compatible with v9.

Why not keeping your old PC for Mastercam use only and getting a new one for everything else

  3. Just coming back from vacation. Thanks for your input.

There are more features around the part not shown on cad file that need to be milled, that is the reason of machining it on a 5 axis machine would be a better option (also material cost).

I need some help choosing the right parameters of the toolpath to be able to make it work. I think Flow 5 Axis would be more apppropiate for this specific cut. What do you guys think...?

I played with parameters without luck, for sure I'm missing something basic to make it work.

  4. Hello all,

I'm just getting into 5 axis machining and have some difficulties trying to cut the undercut shown in the model. The idea is using our 5 axis machine to cut the step with a ball end mill instead of slitting saw type of cutter from top. I threw a few tool paths without luck but have 2 of them that look close but not quite right.

We have a Haas 5 axis Trunnion that would like to use more often.

    Attached is X7 file.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  5. Mr. Fish , coincidentally I asked [email protected] about it and this was the response:

The problem is that the Overlap and the Spring Pass options don't play well together. This combination can and has causes issues in the past that caused parts to be scrapped. So for now it's it prevents the user from selecting these options together. At some point in the future, when time permits we would like to take a closer look at to see if there's a better way to support them.

  6. I do not recommend moving the geometry (hundreds or thousands of entities), like you guys said above it's better to create points to established WCS for each machine. Separate the points on different levels and name them accordig to machine being used.

It's better moving one point than many entities.
