  1. If I import ops and include groups the second and all subsequent ops are named the same as in source groups. The first op in all imported groups is named according to the preceeding/other group. Weird.

Editing is not difficult but it's annoying as I use import ops lots.

  2. How to edit multiple selected entities in the Analyze entity properties function?

So I select all 5mm dia arcs to convert to 6.5mm dia. "Help" says use the propagate button. But that doesn't seem to work. I have to use the forward/reverse buttons to toggle through each entity and edit them individually.

    Got any suggestions?

  3. Hi Nick,

Notice how any question regarding nesting is completely ignored here. I don't think many guys are using it. We rely on it heavily though, so any discussion on it's performance and functions is welcomed. I'm not sure about your question. I think I would do exactly what you did and maybe just manage the engraver depth within the machine settings.

  4. X4 MU2.

Can anyone shed light on this for me?

I've toolpathed around 50 parts with their own wcs in several mcx files.

Now that I want to nest them I get a combined list of operations under one toolpath group heading brought into the nesting session. It looks like each op has been re-assigned a new wcs as it's been brought in.

Why does this differ from what happens when I nest toolpaths within the same .mcx file? i.e. the toolpath groups keep their assigned wcs and are not combined.

  5. I open a SW part with elliptical entities. Edge curves is checked in Solid import. Some, but not all, resulting wire frame ellipses have end points which overlap. Get the same thing with Edge curves un-checked and manually Create-Edge curve. Is it the SW part or MC. Using X4 MU2.

  6. Can someone point me to some guidance on working with SW files in MC. I'm not a SW user. But started importing SW parts and assemblies and getting WCS and orientation issues. I'd like to know how SW files need to be configured so that they import with useful WCS/origins etc. And do I use assemblies or just parts? I'm working with furniture and cabinet assemblies which are being toolpathed and nested so if the parts can be given WCS before coming into MC it would be helpful but I'm only assuming this is the way to do it. This I'm sure is basic stuff for most of you guys, so I hope you can give me your advice. Thanks.

  7. Should I be looking for a better graphics card for X4? I was told by them to make sure I'm using the latest driver, (which I am) so why is MC crashing frequently now? Are there other system resources I need to check into?
