I had to stop using X9 on some of the parts that we machine, due to some bugs that slowed me way down. I sent them to QC and they could reproduce them. I was liking X9 till I came across them. I could work around them, but X8 works grate on them. X9 fixed some of the bug that was in X8, so I'm using both for now. Hopping the next update takes care of some of the bugs so I can use X9 only.

I have the Quadro 600 on my Windows XP machine and it is not working well with big files in verify. I am look at getting a new computer with windows 7. I need to get the best bang for the buck I know that a Quadro 2000 is not an option.
An input on a computer under $1500 is welcomed.

Will the Geforce gtx 560 work better than Quadro 600 for Mastercam? This will be in a new computer running Windows 7.

Use caution if you are using live tooling. According to the paper work that came with our live tooling it cannot run for long periods of time at max RPM.

Crashed for me.
James is the lucky One.

Rick I hope this fixes your problem keep us posted. I think it has fixed my stock to leave problem. I change the stock to leave to zero in all of the HS toolpaths. for now it is working.

CNC Apps,
How do you handle different machines with the same default? I am running in to some problems using the same default for multiple machines.
-
In relation to the Ops Wes, no, that has been able to happen since X and that was root "C" directory based
Moving the op default from one version to the next, the operations in the new version didn't exist in the previous version, so if you migrated op defaults files, you had to add the newer paths to it to not have that issue at least.

I have had the stock to leave problem for years. I sent it into QC back in 2006. I am working on new operations for X6. I hope it fixes the problem.

Rick,
I believe that my operations default is corrupt also. After talking with Rob at QC we narrowed it down to my operations default that has been imported for years.
-
I have this problem with ALL versions I am running of Mastercam X4 to X6. I sent this in to QC back in 2006 with X2.
I hope that what I changed sticks. Only time will tell.
I only have one Mach def and only one Control Def........All I know to do is keep sending them to QC.
-
Yes it will change when you reopen it.
I have made some changes to the operation defaults that has helped, but I had to change it in all of the machines controls defs that used my operation defaults to get it to stick. If I just changed one machine control it would not stick.
-
Yes on sometimes. When I get this error the toolpath is not in the operation defaults that is set as default. Then it looks at the original operation defaults that has the stock to leave set at .05.

We use output feedon our Haas.

It will change after you close out of Mastercam and reopen the file also. I have created a new toolpath looked at the stock to leave (zero) saved then checked the stock to leave (zero) close and reopened check stock to leave (.05). I think it has some thing to do with the Operation Defaults.
After I changed the stock to leave in the defaults to zero in X6 it is not changing, but I have only tried it a few times after I change the defaults.
-
What is keep tool down set at?
Does your machine rapid in a straight line or in the shap of a dog leg?
-
Send this in to QC.
For me the stock to leave has been changing to .05 in the SHS toolpaths in X2 to X6. I sent this in back in 2006 and this year for X6. Rob at QC worked with me on X6 to fix it, I hope what we did works.
I changed all of the stock to leave in the Operation Defaults to zero. I did this change to the one My Machines Defaults to and to the one That Mastercam calls defaults. If you just change the on that the control defaults to it will not work. Sometime it looks at the defaults that comes with Mastercam it is set to .05 in the stock to leave.
The only way I can get X5 to work is to set the stock to leave to something other than zero(.00001).
-
My defaults are set to zero, but I still have .05 in the stock to leave box now and then.
Thats BAD.
Send it in to QC. When I get time to try it I will give X6 a workout.
-
I copy a scallop path and it is a finisher with 0 stock left on surfaces
I just reselect the containment bnd and the stock to leave on wall and floors
switch to .05????
It only seems t happen the first time you copy the path or import it.???
happened yesterday and Monday to me, I have never punch in .05 in those fields ever.
highest i enter is .03
That is the same problem I had with all of the Surface HST toolpaths.
I changed the stock to leave in the defaults to zero. I thinks this is helping.
-
I have been working round the stock to leave changing from 0 to .05 after I close and reopen it in surface high speed toolpaths from the beginning.
Thanks to Rob at QC we may have this fixed. It looks like my Operation Defaults was the problem.
-
I have a long list of bugs jotted down, most of which have been pre-existing to earlier versions.
+1
