  1. Loaded Mcam 9 onto my new Laptop. The mouse cursor can be seen in the main menu but not in the graphics area. I tried lowering the resolution and turning off Open GL but still no mouse cursor. This is with Windows XP.
  2. Thanks everyone. I did create a line down the center and use contour. But we wanted to do it the hard way just to do it.
  3. I would like to use a 1.0" diameter cutter to mill a slot that is 1.0" wide. As long as the cutter is smaller than 1.0" it will verify. I do understand the machining reasons not to use this size cutter but would like to do it anyway. Any help? Also I cannot locate the the files used in the Instructors Tutorials. The address emastercam.com/files/ does not work for me.
  4. Thought everyone should know or maybe you already know, when i installed mcam x i found our hasps would not run with version x.Info on hasps was sent out in the electronic newsletter some time ago. When i called to clarify this at the beginning of summer our local reseller did not return my call.3 emails were sent also to the reseller for clarification and none were returned. Now i am pissed because i just found out from Mastercam that there is a website to register the old hasp and then they will send out a knew one.we have 30 seats and they all have to be updated one at a time through the website wwwsimswap.com.Took me all summer to clarify this and find out we have the none compatiable hasps.Just thought i would save someone the hassle i have gone thru.Looks like we will be using Mcam x in the spring not the fall.
  5. okay.saving the file as a .stl worked fine but only when it contained surfaces and was 3d.as a wireframe it would not work when you verified it,that is to see the shape other than the standard box or cylinder.
  6. Reduce the number of surfaces created by Solidworks to work better in Mastercam.I have seen it done before but have forgotten how to do it. thanks, steve heck
  7. Is there a way to filter surfaces after importing from Solidworks? Also in Verify would like to see an object shape other than the standard rectangle or cylinder when you verify a toolpath.
  8. i have explored the manual for you and have found nothing. could be a switch on the front of the control. did this come about all of a sudden?or right after you loaded the software???
  9. jay, try the emco users group under yahoo groups. maybe small mills user group. this is second hand info so you might have to do some exploring. we have used our f1 for alot of years here. we have since retired it.the programs look okay. check things on the control maybe a switch or something.
  10. thank. that works. what would we do without you!!!
  11. would like to know how to set the spindle direction in mcam v9 lathe. want to cut left hand threads. we have a grasp on all the parameters except spindle direction. i know i could post out and edit the program.but how can you change it in mcam
  12. would like to set up mcam to machine parts on two different vises on one mill. vise 1 would be to contour parts and vise 2 would be on a different table location. the part would be flipped over and milled on the top as a second operation. how could mcam be set up for vise1 to use a g54 and vise2 for a g55.
  13. thanks for the info. do not know why they would change it after all these years. we used ver9.0 than switched to ver9.1 sp1 and then sp2.
  14. the 2 computers that we have problems with have gone down. they keep rebooting windows constantly. i am going to reload mcam with no sp2 and that should fix them.
