  1. Thanks for the info guys,I'll install the FX3500 in the new system and I did order the Q9650 chip instead of the Q9550. Even though winter is coming fast and I could use a little extra heat under the desk! I guess I'll have to keep the little space heater under there now.

    Thank You, Rick

  2. I'm going to build a box and thanks to the great info on here I,ve got a very good start on picking out my components. Here is what I'm looking at so far:

    MoBo: Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P

    Ram: G-Skill 8GB (2X4GB kit) DDR2 PC8500

    Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz 12MB L2 Cache

Power Supply: Cooler Master UCP RS900

Cooling Fan for Processor: Artic Cooling Freezer7 Pro CPU Coooler

    Case: Antec Twelve Hundred

    OS: Windows Vista Ultimate 64

    HD: WD VelosiRaptor WD3000GLFS 10,000 Rpm. 300GB

I have a question about the Video card or cards. I have a Quadro FX 3500 now that I could put in the new system, or should I put two new cards like the GeForce 8800GTS 512MB, GeForce GTX 260 896MB in SLI which would work better?

    Thank You,Rick

  3. The company which I work for is considering the purchase of an NC verification software. We have outsorced some programing when I am busy and there is no way for us to verify the programs without running them since they are files which have been posted for the machines. I'm just curious to find out what others are useing and why.

    Thank You, Rick

  4. Lynnz,

That is exactly what I did.

    Thank You

    Roger,

These programs were the first ones I sent to our new machine (Hurco) so we were using a practice block. At least I didn't ruin a mold insert, tool or the machine before I resolved the problem with your help. biggrin.gif

    Thank You, Rick

  5. Roger,

I found a switch in the MPHUR post to change the output for G18 from G2 to G3 and G3 to G2.

The first note in the Users notes: of the post is in referance to the G18 plane.

So I didn't change anything in the control.

    Thank You, Rick

  6. I have a problem!!! I'm running MC9.1SP2 MR0304 on a Dell P4 3.2GHz with 2Gig ram and a Nvidia Quadro FX 1300 128MB vidio card and updated vidio driver. I programed two cavities in a mold and I have two crashes one in each cavity and in different programs which don't show up in verify or backplot. The problem areas are both arcs in the programs which have the correct information except the direction of the arc is wrong. The first arc gouged the part and faulted the machine because of X travel limits the second arc was much smaller and gouged into the cavity. At first I thought this was a post problem but I checked the NCI files and found that the information is incorrect there. I think that the cause may be in filtering. I run the filter at a 2:1 ratio .001 for filter tolerance and .0005 for cut tolerance for a total of .0015 One way isn't checked create arcs in XY XZ and YZ are all checked and a min. arc of .005 and max.of 100.0.

Any information or thought will be very appreciated!!!! banghead.gif

    Thank You, Rick

  7. Sorry everybody but my connection was interrupted when I was downloading the file to the FTP site and I didn't think that anything was sent. (I looked at the file and it is very messed up and incomplete) I'm going to down load a new zipped file called Plas-Tech 2.MC9

I used level 12 when I had the problem. Also I noticed something new this morning since adding all of the patches I tried to create curves projected onto a surface and I don't get everything projected. I do this for engraving and it worked early yesterday before the updates.

    Thank You, Rick C.

  8. I have been haveing some problems with very slow cutterpath processing on some simple surface files. I will down load a sample file on the FTP which took over a half hour to process a surface finish flowline cutterpath.

I'm useing Mastercam Mill Level 3 V9SP1 & Solids with all of the updated patches, on a Dell Pent.4 1.8GHz,512meg. ram, Nvidia GeForce3 Ti500 with updated Video driver, and 24 gig. of free space on the hard drive.

Somebody please let me know if you have any ideas!!!

    Thank You, Rick C.

  9. Hi everybody,

I have also had the same results in V8 and V8.1.1. I think that the problem is associated with filtering and have only noticed it with filtered nci files. I have been using the NCI editer in V7.2 and it works great!

  10. I am having scanning problems. I can export my file from the scanner to a BMP or a TIF but I cannot import them into V8. Any ideas? If you can convert to BMP can't you import in too?

    Thanks in advance
