Hi I am working with a v9.1 post and the b axis on a giddings and lewis 8000 control needs a negitive number to go backwads.
so if i am at 180 and want to go to 179 without the minus sign it will go 359 degrees to get to 179.

well thanks anyway.

sorrry around the x like you said .

it is setup in front plane and around the y axis ?

Hi guys this is a mc9 post but i was just wondering if anyone would know why i would have y moves but no B with it, i am trying to engrave a round dial on a 4th axis , i compare it with the program from a vmc and all the moves are right just no output.
i know v9 is dead and gone but even just a nudge in the right direction would help.

Thank you that worked .

spent a few hours on it and figured out the control
burned a few small parts then it started to keep going
streching the wire with out burning or breaking.
then the 7341 alarm
"back block out due to short wire work"

What controls climb or conventional milling when using surfacing (mc9) i know i can control it by machining angle
but this also reverses the path (finish parrell tool path). is it how you pick it or is it in how it is drawn?

i dont think they support v9 any more, we got x when we bought v9.1 but the machines are mostly from the early 80s so the posts were a bit of a hold back from upgrading.
there is only a couple of those machines left so maybe with any luck we can look at an upgrade soon.
i think all i need is a line in the post to say -------if b is less than previous b then use minus sign if not not? this doesnt have to be a seemless solution i can patch in the rotary code to a main program.
