  1. Hi,

I am not finding the functionality the Help says:

    Mastercam Editor

    • A built-in macro recorder lets you automate routine processes. Additional features include task list, unnamed bookmarks, syntax highlighting, project workspaces, and Quick Code (preformatted code) functionality.

Does anyone knows how to record a macro under Mastercam X7?

    I am looking to:

manually select geometry (arcs and lines)

    start recorded macro:

    0. display all levels

    1. inverse selection

    2.1 delete selection

    2.2 delete empty levels

    3. select everything

    4. rotate everything -90 deg

    5. move everything to origin from a XY point I will click

    6. Scale everything 1/25.4

    7. Zoom fit everything

    end of macro

    Thanks for your help.

  2. How to import your old holders in the Tool Manager:

    1. Create a contour operation

    2. Click "Open library" in "Holder" tab of operation

    3. Browse your *.holders file

    4. Click "Save library"

    5. Select "Save as type" *.tooldb

    6. Open this file with Tool manager

This manager is fabulous with new tool paths.

It is useless with old style operations like engraving where there is no holder management.

    Good luck.

  3. I just imported a 122MB NCI file with several simultaneous 5-Axis toolpaths, multiple contours, a few pockets, and some drilling and it all seems to be there. I'd have to go back in original Mastercam file to double check but I'm in the airport getting ready to board aplane.

What exactly is the "bug" are you experiencing?

All I did was right click in the Operations Manager, go to Mill Toolpaths, go down to Import NCI, search for my NCI file and it imported. I did get one warning on 1 toolpath about a wrong tool parameter. Is that what you experienced?

Importing this attached NCI file fails. Nothing happen. Please try it and let me know if you succeeded. Thanks.
