About Me

I've been into machining since about 1995. Never intended to be a machinist but I caught a break while working in the shipping and recieving dept. at an aerospace company. Kinda came nuturally after that moving my way through the shop running a bunch of different machinery and learning as much as I could from old timers that had the patience and kindness to show me what they knew. I ran everything from gang mills to Bridgeports to old tape fed nc clunkers and finally modern cnc machines. Eventually I started programming with CAM software after getting tired of editing on the machine control or typing up programs in word.

I've been in more than a couple of different industries from aerospace, commercial lighting, tool and die making, sand cast molds, sheet metals, automotive, and right back to aerospace where I started. Only now all I cut is nonmetalics, engineered high tech plastics and such. Sounds easy right?... Harder than you might imagine actually.

I first started programming with Esprit CAM in 2000 and went on to learn MasterCam not to long after that, in the wire mesh days of versions 8 and 9.

Been programming with it ever since. First only 2D and 3D, then dove into 5 axis and MC solids which I've been working on since 2007 or so.

Along the way I've also picked up some pretty decent erxperience in SolidWorks(since 2001), PoyWorks, CAMplete TruePath, SurfCam, PCDemis and Adobe Illustrator to a slightly lesser degree.

Even though I mostly just program and design now, I do like to get my hands dirty in the machines when ever I get a chance.
