I'm not too sure. I have no need for it.

I hear Micron makes a pretty good 5 Axis machine. Whatever you do though, stay away from DMG. Constantly having those thing fixed around here.
DMG's are good machines. Just like any machine you have to take car of it and not crash it.

In verify click on options for tool colour. Or set it as default in configuration - verify interface - verify settings. Your WCS display is in configuration - screen - display WCS.

Our QC department is the biggest bottleneck in our shop.
I thought my shop was the only one.

Start with a solid base plate with locating pins that you can drop multiple fixtures onto . For small lots have two vises mounted to a plate that you can just drop onto the locating pins on your base plate.
That's what we have here. Also a laser for measuring tools is pretty quick.

I had this happen before. I don't remember exactly but when installing the mouse you have to enable the scroller.

I personally don't give a $h1t where or when whoever goes for a smoke....not my business
Nobody asked you.

the funny part of this is that,, these places that have uber restrictive smoking policies,, do any of them have a oil/mist/smoke collection system attached to any of their machines?? because im pretty sure that the stuff you breath in all day from machining metal is no better then smoking a cig??
because most of the people who dont smoke, if they even get a hint of cigarette smoke its the end of the world,, but then the same person standing running thier machine thats pouring smoke and mist out of it couldnt care less??
how bout it??
The air quality in machine shops is probably not the best and should be ventilated properly. That being said why should I add cigarrete smoke on top of that.

Maybe in Canada, but not in California.
Actually not in Canada, just my opinion. If a guy spends 2 hours of the day smoking then the non smokers should get to go home 2 hours early with pay.
-
Yeah you shouldn't have to. But when a one guy spends about 2 hrs a day on the can and everyone else starts complaining, what should you do?
Mike
Can the guy and move on.

I hope there aren't any supervisors on this forum that would print that sheet out.

I have had it with this one.
I put up with it in X5 and it is also in X6 too...
.
I copy a tool from one group to another in the ops man by right click drag and drop(copy before)
Every time I go to change the tool number(From 1 to 13) in this case, , the Holder(was 1.00) and the Holder Dia.(was at 2.0)
Both MAGICALLY change to '0.0'. you can't change the tool number until you put them back to '1.0' and '2.0'
PITA to say the least. BTW I send in every one of the bugs I post here.
.
.
Any one get this in both X5 and X6?
Rick
I got this one in X5.

If you're cutting aluminum I would avoid a 5 flute endmill.

What words did I put in anyone's mouth? I made a direct quote and had something to say about it. Sure I was laughing... I was going back to dinner last night, we had something my 8 year old had never tried... he stated he did not like such and such. I asked him when he had tried it, and he said never, but I just know I don't like it. His statement (and the statement of many others) made me think of that conversation.
I know I don't like the taste of cow manure before I even try it.

I am so sick of this. I'm not even going to bother with X6MU1. X4 is still working fine... What a shameful waste of money paying for maintenance has been the last 2 years.
I hear ya.

How much time could ya'll have saved if you ditched X6 a month ago.
I smile on my way to work since I stopped using it.
There comes a point when you need to pull the plug.
I saved even more time by reading this thread and not switching to X6 to begin with.

Adjusting your feed and speed could also prevent the chips from being stringy and wrapping aroung the bar.

I have 2 files there as well. But when I select my tool list from the library there is only one visible.

Good to know.

You could use multiaxis drill, using points/lines. You'll have to create a line on the axis of every hole though.

I would love to know how you can get anything to work with all those different programs running. Your taskbar looks like it's packed !
Get with the times man.
