I found parameters but am not sure how to do a tool length using the ots sensor. Shouldnt it be a teach button?
-
Wish I had a parameter book. So if I want to set a tool height using the OTS I run that function to go touch the OTS from the Parameters? Isnt it an automated function like Haas?
I just want to touch off my tools
-
New to Mazak (HOLY COWS) and want to get a tool height saved using the OTS probe on a riser off the table. I can navigate the control a little bit but all the tool data screens do not seem to have ANY probing info for touching the tool off the OTS probe. Machine is a 2011 with Matrix control.

Yes NGC control. It is as easy as that? Changing the output to B/C and rotary along Y?
-
Has anyone had success with this? WE imported a post from x7 to 2017 then to 2019 but the options seems slim. Trying to get it to B/C for the TR110.

Hard to imagine lube lifting the table. It barely blurbs out.
-
I understand alot of it is self explanatory but some of it is not. We were told by our distributor that there would not be any support for port expert. There used to be a video tutorial but it was pulled from the videos. Was this product dropped for 2020? Is it a big giant secret? Surely is frustrating we have to rely on one video a customer made on youtube who barely speaks english.

Well thats the nice thing about the control. If you want them to make a change like increase the lube timing they will. They stand behind the product. Cant remember the warranty time. All Fadals had different lube time intervals. I think the bigger ones were every 6 minutes, smaller were 8 or was it the other way. Ballscrews are consumables. Expect to go through them 5-10 years. We have had the same X and Y on a machine that is 25 years old. It has been absolutely pounded on. I guess good clean lube is what kept it in shape.

We have had a Fadal or two for the last 25ish years. We ran into control limitations in the late 90s. The control just wouldnt contour for crap at any good speed. So we used our Fadals for basic tasks (2d, drilling, simple milling..ect). This last year we bought and installed a couple of 527F controls from Calmotion for about 8K ea. I have to say I wish Fadal would have had this control on it back in the 90s. It came stock with 8gigs of memory...not 422K or 16 megs. It handles 3d contouring at a few hundred inches a minute. Our biggest hurdle is now the spindle speed is limited to 10K rpm. But we use that at 2-400ipm contouring with a pretty heavy chip load. Giving a little more life to these dinosaurs is very helpful.

Maybe a novice question but we have 3 pcs and one hasp set up with 2019. I am trying to determine the best one for heavy code and complex geometry. I have my posts on one of them how do I transfer the post to the next PC? Is it like the MCAM of old...machine definition..ect?

There's some sucker out there that would think he's getting a steal on that thing. You just need to find him.

LOL I understand what a solid state drive is I just dont understand why you would have a defrag option when it cannot be done and widows is basically asking it for something it doesnt have an option for. Like a one handed handshake or the sounds of one hand clapping..he he he
-
and if you do get an SSD, don't run a disk defrag!
What happens?
-
Ok I will do a 120gig SSD then. My guy will install the OS on it. Thanks for the suggestion!!

Most of what we do is 2d high speed but the multiaxis will be taking over next year. Toolpaths were just taking too long with X5 and with X6 zig zagging we are alot happier but still the long processing time is irritating enough to spend a few dollars. What would a SSD cost for this PC? Maybe I will add it later. We may also pickup 2 of these PCs so I will have that option later.

Wondering about this because I can get a Dell 8500 right now for $800 with 12 gig ram. I need to replace our old dual core with the crappy Asus motherboard that they programmed a "stop wokring at such and such a date".
-
We get hasp disconnected with X6 all the time for some reason. Hasp has never been out.
-
Good to go for a while now
-
We are using X5 tool library and some custom tools but would love a huge library for our programmer. Anyone care to share?

Hey your Z is not negative....your tapping air
-
If you rotate you will tilt and if you tilt you will spin the spindle.

Hey we have 2 of these if anyone wants to buy one I would let it go for 15K. I have AC and DC fadal units

Hey who has a post for this? I have the Tri-tech post for the APL file but no Mastercam post.
Can someone guide me on using table tool height probe with MAtrix Mazak controller?

Appreciate the guidance. Looks like someone may have deleted any help files from windows. We are also getting a 21 error on start up that happens a lot. (Bad drive I suppose) and a 1443 backup incomplete (Possible full backup, although flash drive is missing)
